Forrest Claims Victory in Thrilling SOCC November PCA

Jonathan Forrest emerged triumphant at the 2025 SOCC November Production Car Autotest, piloting his Nissan Micra to victory with a cumulative time of 750.7 seconds across eight challenging tests.

The event featured a compelling battle at the front, with Shane Parry’s Ford Puma initially setting the pace in the opening test. Parry recorded the fastest time of 86.3 seconds, establishing an early 4.5-second advantage over Forrest. However, Forrest’s consistency proved decisive as he gradually clawed back the deficit.

By the completion of the third test, Forrest had established a slender one-second lead over Parry, before extending his advantage through the middle section of the competition. The Micra driver’s metronomic performance saw him steadily build a cushion that eventually reached 18.7 seconds by the final test.

Louise Wren completed the podium positions in another Ford Puma, finishing 44.1 seconds behind the winner but demonstrating impressive pace throughout to secure third place. The Puma proved to be the car of choice for many competitors, with three examples featuring in the eight-car field.

Further down the order, a fascinating mid-field contest developed between John Macdonald in an MG ZR, Chris Price in a VW Polo, and John Risby piloting a Citroen DS3. The trio exchanged positions multiple times throughout the day, with Macdonald ultimately claiming fourth place, just 2.5 seconds ahead of Risby in the final standings.

William Johnson, in the third Ford Puma of the competition, struggled to match the pace of the front-runners but maintained a consistent performance to secure seventh position.

Jamie Noble’s Mazda MX5 rounded out the field, the rear-wheel-drive sports car proving more challenging to handle in the tight confines of the autotest layout. Despite this, Noble persevered to complete all eight tests and gain valuable experience.

The event highlighted the accessibility of Production Car Autotests, with a diverse range of everyday road cars competing effectively, from the nimble Micra to the more powerful Pumas and the sporty MX5.
