Hall Dominates from Start to Finish in SOCC January PCA Opener

James Hall put on a masterclass performance at the 2026 SOCC January Production Car Autotest, leading from the first test to claim a commanding victory in his MG ZR. Hall’s consistent pace throughout the six tests secured him the win with a total time of 1377.8 seconds, nearly a minute ahead of his closest rival.

Matt Endean in his Rover 25 maintained a strong second position throughout the event, finishing with a time of 1437.7 seconds. Despite never threatening Hall’s lead, Endean drove solidly to keep a comfortable gap to third-placed Max Bird in a Citroen C2, who completed the podium with 1546.3 seconds.

The pattern of the competition was established early, with Hall setting the fastest time on the opening test at 225.4 seconds, already opening a 28-second advantage over Endean. This gap remained relatively consistent through the subsequent tests, with Hall methodically extending his lead as the day progressed.

Further down the field, a fascinating battle developed between Tom Howarth in another MG ZR and Martin Moore in a Seat Arosa. The pair were tied after the second test, both recording identical times of 570.8 seconds. However, Howarth gradually pulled away in the second half of the event to secure fourth place overall, finishing 55.7 seconds ahead of Moore.

Hall’s victory was built on remarkable consistency, with the MG ZR driver never relinquishing his advantage at any point during the day. His performance sets a high benchmark for competitors as the championship moves forward.
